One of the simplest and most pleasurable ways to relax and reduce stress is to take a bath — a sound bath that is! If you are seeking a passive way to deeply relax & reach a meditative and restorative state, then this session is for you.
Join Tanya Webb & Heather Seyhun & rest in resonance with the healing vibrations of sound. The sound bath session is a therapeutic soundscape that uses a wide array of instruments including tuning forks, gongs, Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls, voice, drums and more!
The session promotes well-being and a profound state of relaxation for participants, that increases the creativity which lays dormant within us all.
All you need for the sound bath is to be comfortably dressed & ready to relax! Yoga mats, cushions & blankets are provided, but feel free to bring your own. Chairs are available for anyone who prefers to sit through the session.
So why is sound healing?
Everything in the universe is in a constant state of vibration, including our bodies. Sound is vibration that can be translated by the delicate structures of our inner ear, but it moves more than just our ear receptors. It is part of the spectrum of energy vibrations that affect us on the mental, physical, and spiritual levels.
Long ago shamans recognized the power of sound when they first used chants and drumming to heal people. In ancient Egypt, Greece, and India, the use of sound and music for healing was a highly developed sacred science. Sonic vibration has been one way of experiencing the energy of the universe for much of humanity’s history.
When the vibrations of our physical and spiritual bodies are out of harmony it can cause disease. Sound healing is a gentle way to realign our vibration, clear blockages and restore harmony.
Sound & vibration with its combinations of rhythm and frequencies, has the ability to shift our brain waves from our:
waking beta state – of being alert & concentrating
to an alpha state – being creative & relaxed
into a theta state – a meditative state
and into a delta state – deep sleep; where restoring and healing can occur.
Benefits of sound bath include:
– Reduce stress and anxiety
-Allow you to open up and reconnect with yourself
– Helps you to tune out your thoughts and tune in your meditation
-Makes you more relaxed, balanced, and focused
-Relaxes the nervous system which can decrease blood pressure
